SOCIETY SUMMARY

  • The Society provides a forum that stimulates a free exchange of ideas in all aspects of the television profession.It promotes discussion on techniques and on the use and design of equipment.
  • Professional meetings are organized throughout the UK and abroad.
  • Technical information together with News of members and their activities, are published in the Society's magazine.
  • The Society has no union affiliations, and is therefore recognized as a valuable platform for open discussion and demonstration by Production, Management and Industry.
  • The Society is financed by member's subscriptions and industrial sponsorship.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

  • FULL MEMBERSHIP is for those who are or have been engaged in the direction and design of the creative aspect of television lighting.
  • Typically, this means Lighting Directors and Directors of Photography
  • ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP is for those whose occupation is directly associated with the creative aspect of television lighting.
  • This catagory includes Console Operators, Gaffers, Technicians, etc.
  • SPONSORS are companies which are associated with the Television industry and are invited to become Sponsor Members of the Society.
  • Please contact the Sponsors Liason, who will be happy to discuss things further
  • STUDENT MEMBERSHIP is for those proposed by a Full Member or a recognised course leader. Only valid during the Student's training period.
